The Institute of Internal Auditors is encouraging accounting professionals, organizations and firms around the world to take part in promoting International Internal Audit Awareness month.
The organization wants these groups to help reinforce the importance of internal controls and standards to their audit clients, executive management teams and boards of directors, as well as to students and others in the business community.
The new IIA Building Awareness Toolkit includes creative ideas, sample programs, videos, tips, tools, and templates to help individuals, audit teams, and IIA chapters raise awareness and showcase the value of the internal audit activity.
People can also promote the profession and Audit Awareness Month via social media. The IIA Facebook page includes photos of what some professionals are doing to celebrate International Internal Audit Awareness Month. On Twitter, professionals are using the hashtag #IIAMay.
